Vacation – All I ever wanted
Vacation – Had to get away
Everyone wants a vacation. Some seek a moment of solitude. Others seek a connection with family and friends. Some sleep at the top of the Four Seasons. Others sleep at the bottom of the Super 8. Some spend $20,000 on Hong Kong. Others spend $2.00 renting King Kong. It doesn’t matter who you spend it with. It doesn’t matter where you spend it or how much you spend on it…vacation means relaxation.
Take it easy, take it easy
Don’t let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don’t even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand and take it easy
I found a place to make my stand. Strategically placing my lounge chair between the opposing sides. The sound of the beach infiltrates my left ear. Waves beating against the shore. Infiltrating my right ear, the sound of the pool. Chanting children eager to capture their opponent – Marco! Polo!
Let me go on
Like I blister in the sun
Let me go on
Big hands, I know you’re the one
The sun is burning me alive. Penetrating my skin as if it has lowered itself to a position only inches from my face. I open my eyes to find myself blinded by its proximity. Reaching up I try desperately to push it back into place but it resists my attempt. You wanted this I can hear it say. And I did.
Vacation was all I ever wanted. Vacation I had to get away.
